We had our son's wedding rehearsal luncheon here last weekend and it was wonderful! I highly recommend the Wapiti for any sort of large gathering. Communication leading up to the event was very timely and helpful and included options for menu, indoor / outdoor space, and decor (we were able to decorate the room the evening prior which was a HUGE help). On the event date, they happily accommodated last minute changes such as when we were running 30 minutes behind on the rehearsal (they only do one event per day so they can fully focus on yours), adding a champagne toast, and changing our appetizers. The servers were warm, friendly, and very responsive to ongoing needs at the event. To top it off, the food was delicious; we had many guests commenting on how much they enjoyed it (we served the slow beef dip, burgers, fish & chips, and avocado chk sandwich).I looked at every option in Estes Park and this was by far the most accommodating and affordable while remaining high quality!

Went for a late lunch after a day of hiking. Ordered two elk burgers & Parmesan fries and sweet potato fries. Both fries were really good. But the elk burgers were not. They were dry, bone dry. They tasted frozen, they did not taste like elk (more like an inexpensive burger). The waitress was very nice and tried to make our experience positive. We would not return and not recommend.

Leaving Rocky Mountain Park we were starving, we saw Wapiti and said lets give it try, glad we did. Seems to be part of hotel or resort. When we walked in to this lobby with chandeliers and nice chairs, almost like a hotel lobby and there was a young man playing the piano, we were a bit perplexed. But we were lead into the back which was more of a pub setting. Staff was great, very attentive and went over the menu with us. Got to try Rocky Mountain Oysters for the first time! They were pretty good. I got their version of shepherds pie, that was made with elk and other local game. Mmmmm Pretty much everything was good. I image that this place was a high end establishment back in the, had a cool, vibe to it with a little mystery, lots of areas were closed off. I would definitely go back here.

We picked this restaurant at random as we were road tripping up Colorado to Wyoming. Estes park is beautiful and it was nice to drive a little further up the mountain to this spot. We got there within an hour of it opening in off seasons and had a very warm greeting from staff. The atmosphere was rustic and charming with great view of a creek. The staff were quick and friendly. The food was extremely delicious and we would definitely come back! It made us have a great impression of Estes Park for our first visit.

We love this place! So lovely to sit by the river and enjoy the peaceful sound of the water. We love the dirty chips- which I never remember to get a picture of because when they come out we can’t wait to dive in!
