Since my wife was out of town, my sister decided to come out for a week to keep me company. We spent Saturday and Sunday up in the park and had a wonderful time. There was a mixture of cloud and sun , so it was nice and contrasty (😏) for photography. On Saturday afternoon, we saw a lot of animals all up-and-down the different roads of the park. Such majestic animals. There is such a difference in the weather when you start going up higher towards Bear Lake. It seems like we had a little bit of summer mixed in with winter. Always something to see and enjoy when you get a chance to get into the park.

Hung out for a tailgate lunch after exploring Bear Lake. Had hoped to see some elk- but oh well, next time! Beautiful spot for a picnic. A good fishing spot as well, quite a few fishermen came and went while we were there.

We came in mid/late October to see the elk in the rut. We were not disappointed. We've been before in July/Aug and seen more elk. The bugling was incredible. If you're willing to get out of your vehicle and take a hike in the various meadows, the rewards is worth it!!! Absolutely amazing!
