I've been visiting Shadowcliff yearly for 43 years. Whenever I arrive, the weight of the world drops from my shoulders. It's not fancy, it's PEACEFUL. I can sit in my room listening to the North Inlet stream, look out my window at panoramic views of Grand Lake, cook a meal for myself in the guest kitchen or read a book in the large open lounge area. Hikers pass through on their way along the Continental Divide Trail. Hummingbirds flit along the deck. The smell of the local lodgepole pines that the buildings were constructed with by volunteers permeates the place. I keep coming back because this place on the cliff overlooking Grand Lake is truly magical.
