A true 4+ star hotel, and while pricey, I think the best place in Estes Park. I spent a week here in their best rooms and every aspect of the stay was so very well done. Rooms are definitely modern and well-maintained, beds are super comfortable, good amenities including a larger mini-fridge and microwave, good bathroom facilities and supplies. Views are incredible if you get a balcony on the lake side, there is nothing in Estes Park that even comes close. The front desk staff are incredible - during my stay, they repeatedly moved mountains to accommodate the numerous extensions to my stay, they were always a pleasure to deal with. I gotta say, I really appreciate the HDMI port on the wall with a nearby power outlet, first hotel I've ever come across where you can just easily plug in a Roku or any other streaming device and use it without having to get around to the back of the TV. Wifi is solid as well, and I was able to get work done on my laptop while sitting on the balcony with an unbelievable view of the Rocky mountains in the background. Seriously an all-time favorite place to stay and I will definitely return.
Beautiful room, but ours was on the first floor which is below the lobby, so our view sucked. Very clean, only issue was the bath tub drain didn't function so my wife couldn't take a bath just a shower. We only stayed one night so it wasn't worth complaining about it. The spa was nice and people were great! I wouldn't recommend the on site restaurant Ember, they served our lobster bisque at room temp, I'm surprised we didn't get sick from it.
One of my all time favorite places to stay! Everything is just perfect! Views of a tranquil lake and snow-capped mountains were incredibly beautiful! There are lots of extras at this hotel... a nice restaurant, a picnic area, fire pits, a marina, a walking track around Lake Estes, and so much more! The resort is conveniently located to everything! The staff were welcoming and friendly. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable! I would stay here over and over again!!
At check in, guest services gave an example of how the room could be cleaned while we were shopping in town, but was unclear in this explanation that room cleaning is BY REQUEST ONLY. When we came back to our room after the first day to find our room uncleaned, we went to ask about this at the front desk. The front desk staff reacted very defensively, stating that they informed us at check in that room cleaning was by request only. When we questioned this, they insisted that we WERE informed at check in, as they are REQUIRED to explain this to every guest. They then grudgingly offered us replacement towels and told us they would pick up our trash if we put it outside the room.
Do not get the romance arrival package, which includes flowers, two pieces of cheesecake, and a bottle of your choice of beverage, costing $125, as the cheesecake and the drink had been sitting unrefrigerated and not on ice for hours when we arrived. When we went to ask how long the refreshments had been sitting out, a staff member appeared to look something up on the computer, said it looked like someone had last been to the room several hours ago, and was told by the other desk staff that the log couldn’t POSSIBLY be right, and proceeded to “reassure” us that it probably hadn’t been very long. The flowers in the room were lovely, but the hot cheesecake and bottled beverage certainly were not.
The food at the on-site restaurant was quite good, but the interior of the dining area was uncomfortably warm. The bed in our room was comfortable. The AC unit works well, but it tends to intermittently rattle during the night.
Overall, the place has potential, but a few unfortunate features and some unnecessarily negative interactions with the staff made this stay definitely not worth the cost.
Before anything else, Max is great, extremely personable, and goes above and beyond to answer questions or address issues wherever he can.
Great location (it's in Estes Park, so, there's not really a bad location - but being right next to Lake Estes and the walking trail was very convenient; elk paid the property an up-close visit each day, as it's right next to the golf course that they frequent), price can be reasonable depending on when you stay. The main building room balconies don't (currently) have any dividers that provide any kind of privacy, which I did think was odd for a location marketed as a resort/spa. We didn't stay in one of their cabins, but there appear to be many, and I'd guess they're likely quite nice from how they look. We also stopped briefly in the restaurant - staff was great and so were the drinks. We didn't grab any of the food, but multiple options on the menu made me consider getting them instead of what we had planned.
