Paved, well-maintained trail around the lake. Non-stop views from every angle and a fun section to see a damn. There were lots of people with strollers or bikes on the path, so be mindful of that with dogs. Lots of fishing along the lake. Paid/permitted parking lots on either side of the lake.

Lovely trail right off the free public parking structure. Completely paved flat trail along the lake coast, you can do the south as well but doesn't look as good, so north coast is the preferred route. Picnic tables and restrooms along the way, what more can you ask for?

Beautiful place to go for free. You can see many elks over there. Not far away from the visitor center. The shuttle is convenient.

What a beautiful trail! It was gorgeous! It was our first time coming here and already in love with the scenery around this trail. I love walking around this trail while looking at the lake Estes. We saw lots of birdies, ducklings, and butterflies. It is well-maintained, clean and a good place for fishing as well. We saw several people fishing and picnic there. The walking trail is easy and paved along the way. And they provided chairs in some places around the corner for ppl to have a break, so no worries!

I’ve been to Estes Park a few times, but this trail really stands out. On a cloudy afternoon, the view from the lake is just unreal—the mountains look like they’re floating in the mist. It’s peaceful, quiet, and the kind of scenery that makes you stop and just take it all in. If you’re into nature and don’t mind a little chill in the air, this spot is perfect.
