Our meal was absolutely incredible, being from the east coast we have an infinite amount of south asian cuisine to choose from and this has to be one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Everything was brought out hot, freshly made, and with delicious flavour. Also the service was fantastic, very personable and friendly. It is also worth noting that despite a 9pm close time, they did not turn away anyone who wanted to sit down for a meal or place a to go order!
Our order: samosas, strawberry lassi, mango lassi, lentil soup, lamb tikka masala, lamb korma, chicken korma, garlic naan, onion chili naan, mango cheesecake and gulab jamun
Great place for dinner. We were in Grand Lake for a week and ate dinner here twice, we liked it so much. First time, we started with samosas- lots of flavor. I got the chicken koorma, which was creamy and tasty. Hubs got the chicken tikka masala. I tried it and it had a rich, bold flavor that I liked so much, I ordered it on our second visit. That time, we started with the chili chicken (think General Tso’s, but we got the sweet sauce). So good. I wish there was something close to home like this. Hubs got the momos fried and had some of my tikka masala .
Underrated and surprisingly nice place. Dishes average around $20. Their Samosa was delicious and well presented, and the only downside is that each order only comes with 2 samosas. Tikka Masala (hot spice) was my favorite, but the Butter Chicken and Chowmein were really good as well. The Lamb Kadai was my least favorite. The Garlic Naan was just ok in my opinion, but the rest of my family loved it. Overall, really good place, its definitly worth a try!
The atmosphere is nice as well. Its a welcoming environment with coat hangers on every seat for winter, which I think is a pretty cool detail.
So happy to have this great new spot. The food was excellent. As diners were leaving they were all telling the staff how great the food was. We had a samosa appetizer, naan, lamb vindaloo amd veggie curry. Great flavors. Leftovers to go. We'll be back very soon with local friends.
We are so excited to have DURBAR in little ‘ol Grand Lake. Service was welcoming, kind and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious. We had Samosa and Vegetable Pakoda for apps. The table was split on which one was better. For dinner, we had Chicken Korma, Chicken Kadai and Chana Masala. All were amazing, the two chicken dishes I’d say were slightly more popular amongst our table. Regardless, already looking forward to leftovers tomorrow!
Lastly, Mango Mousse Cake…what a delicious, unique dessert! Can’t wait to come back!
