Our family camped here one night. Beautiful campgrounds and well-maintained. Lots of restrooms throughout the park and all kept clean. Each campsite has a bear box, fire ring and picnic table. Camp hosts were very friendly. And about 10 minutes away is a cute town if you need groceries, etc. Cell service also good here. I would definitely come back here.

Gary, the campground host, is absolutely WONDERFUL! So kind and helped us secure a spot that someone cancelled when our FCFS was reserved for the following day. (Rec.gov could do a better job of advertising it was only available for 1 night). Regardless, great campground, spot 30 was somewhat shaded which has helped with the heat. Walking distance to the lake and trails.

The reasoning for the 3 stars is because this is not a site for quite nights. The campgrounds are incredibly close to one another and the spots near the boat launch stay bright and loud throughout the night, probably up till about 11pm. With modern conveniences comes a very modern camping experience. This is not ideal for anybody looking for a nature camping experience. Although the lake nearby is beautiful and being close to stores makes it easy but the noise and light are a bummer. The price was decent but it gets full quick with reservations. Luckily the night we arrived the camp space we secured was abandoned early by pervious folks so we had a spot for two nights. It's advisable to speak directly with the camp host of it looks full just in case someone leaves early. I'd say pay the overnight fees in the rocky mountains nearby and stay in the darkness and quite if your plans aren't centered on water experiences. The rocky mountain campgrounds aren't far from here and offer more to connect with nature.

What a wonderful campground. It was a little hard to find but not a big impediment. The site was clean and well maintained. The fact that is was right on the lake for morning walks was incredible. The site hosts were nice and engaging, they were present the whole time which isn't true in other campgrounds
