We were very excited to finally get to go to The Stanley Hotel just to find out when got there we has booked an out building. We did double check after and nowhere on the description does it describe our room as being in a building not even in the complex. We were in the Aspire building which bosts a hot tub and pool which we never found. There was no one at the desk to ask. There was construction everywhere and took away from the experience. The headge maze definitely needed a gardener it was dying in spots and full of weeds. Also the rose garden was pretty much dead. Not what youd expected for a $400+ a night resort. We also did the Outlook experience "ghost" tour and it was very disappointing. It was described as a historic ghost tour and there was very little history discussed. It was definitely not the price we paid. We also didnt go to very many locations. I understand they are a separate company the operates in the Stanley but they still should tell more of the history.

We enjoyed our time at the Stanley! Jacob was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating with helping with a booking issue and we were so grateful for that! The ghost tour was very entertaining with our gem of a host, Reagan. He was hilarious and informative. We had some spooky vibes in our room and a great meal at Cascades. one negative is that the construction does take away a bit from the vibe but we understand they are under improvements and expansion. Our room had some clothes left from the previous guest in the drawers too which made me question how well they clean the rooms.

Love this place. It's like stepping back in time. Rooms are done with vintage style furniture and big enough with a beautiful view. Great breakfast and service. They don't have places like this anymore. Friendly knowledge staff. Romantic getaway or just any getaway. Visit the gift shop and down the stairs for old photos and magic show. Definitely worth the trip.

We made a day trip out of it from Denver. We did the historical, shining and haunted tour. Our favorites were the historical and shining. The guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The hotel has tons of good photo opportunities and the food and drinks are great. Don't miss out on the strawberry oreo ice cream in the cafe!

I highly recommend the Ghost Tour! Excellent! We had Shawn (the red head) I believe that was his name….he did a fantastic job! You will meet Lucy the spirit-if she likes you she will move a sucker in your hand! It happened to me and my husband. She knocked his over and made mine vibrate in my hand! Have the tour guide Air Drop some real ghost pictures to you. I have them but don’t want to ruin your surprise!
