The drive to the falls is a one way dirt road with no guardrails, steep elevations and bends. However, it is fairly easy to drive there at 10 mph, you can't drive faster on that road.
This one way road eventually leads you to the Alpine Visitor Center.
Overall, it takes about an hour or so to drive through the one way road to reach the Alpine Visitor Center where you can finally drive on the asphalt road.
The falls are very small but beautifully tucked in a corner.

The drive to get there is half the fun. Old Fall River Road is a one‑way, unpaved gravel route about 9–11 miles long, winding steadily uphill with hairpin turns, lovely alpine meadows, and no guardrails . Vehicles don’t need to be off‑road capable, but you’ll want good tires and steady nerves—the speed limit is a cautious 15 mph, and it’s recommended you pull over in designated spots to let others pass .
Once you park, the path to the falls is an easy, brief descent—just slick, so watch your step. There’s a viewing platform and stairs right at the lip of the canyon. You’ll often see marmots or even elk along the way, and the forested canyon setting makes it feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem .
No special reservation is needed beyond your park entry, but Old Fall River Road opens seasonally (typically early July to mid-October), weather permitting . If the road is closed, you can still access Chasm Falls by hiking from Endovalley or Alluvial Fan—adds a mile or two but offers more scenery .

The full ride of Old Fall River Road, an super exciting experience. Although this road is gravel, but even sedans like our Toyota Corolla can handle it. I will advise everyone who visit Rocky Mountains National Park to try this road.
Beautiful little spot. Definitely a blast driving up the old fall river road. Well worth the excursion on your way up to the alpine visit center. There is some free parking at the falls. I will definitely be back. always like hanging out at the waterfalls. Just something Abt them makes everyone feel good. One of the many wonderful spots in the park.
