Our family had the most wonderful experience at Winding River Resort. We had a camper cabin over the 4th of July weekend and it was perfect. The campground was nice and clean and the perfect level of remote we wanted. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and were so kind to my son. He enjoyed seeing the animals, watching the horses, and spending time outdoors at the campsite and near the river. Also, we felt comfortable and safe as a family. We are rebooked for next year and are so excited to go back!

What an amazing time here!! We stayed in the Pioneer wagon and it was amazing! A few other family members tent camped as well. There were 30 of us in total and the campgrounds were exactly what we hoped for. We loved the mountain scenery, especially the sunset behind the mountain! I really appreciated the showers and the family bathrooms, which were super easy with little children. We enjoyed Cowboy Church as well and got to pet a one week old goat! The general store at the front was very convenient for getting a cold drink, ice for coolers, or lotion for our sunburns. We will definitely be coming back.

We camped in our Skoolie for 4 nights and it was amazing. The pics online show more trees at the campsites, but on the west side of the campground there are no trees. The bathrooms/showers are unbelievably nice! The location is amazing! Shelby and Gage gave us an awesome two hour horse ride tour. We saw two huge bull moose. I was able to ride my bike up Trail Ridge Road. You are very close to Grand Lake. Riding a bike is about 3 miles from the campsites and it would be uphill from Grand Lake. All staff was friendly and water and electric worked great our whole stay!

We had a blast at winding river resort. The petting zoo and horse breakfast (around 7:30am) every day was a huge hit for my kids each day. The scenery was fantastic, the amenities clean and well maintained. The camper cabin we stayed in was cozy and a perfect blend of comfort and outdoorsy. We rented a UTV for a day and had a great time. The fishing was fun too. Perfect location with how close it is to grand lake! Thanks for the good stay!

We stayed in the horse camp part of the Resort. Pens were clean, in the shade and safe. Hydrants and manure spreaders were adjacent to the pens so super convenient and easy to tend. Trails from camp were ok…all trees had been burnt in 2020…so still an Interesting outing. They have a couple well maintained trailers for rent so we got to visit some beautiful RMNP trails, which were awesome. We ended up departing early due to smoke, winds and a mule with heaves. Service was excellent…everyone was nice and helpful. We will definitely return.
