This place is an absolute gem. Super friendly and helpful staff, beautiful views and a great place to park our camper for a few days. Would not hesitate to camp there again in the future. Our only regret was not having enough time to do more exploring in the park.

Great spot just outside of Estes Park for hiking. Trails, campgrounds, roads, and bathrooms are well maintained. Nice views once you get up higher. We only hiked one trail, but there others of differing difficulty levels.

My Family and I have stayed here 6 or 7 times over the last 15yrs. Consistently great campsites without your neighbor in your space. Long pull outs, back ins or through. Just in case you brought your whole house with you "roughing it", there are hookups too. Lots to do in the park and just a hill away lies Estes Park with everything you may need if you forgot to bring it. Maybe you would like to wing it one day on the big lake or take in the abundant wildlife? Hermits offers a lot, while still staying secluded and quiet off the main road. We enjoyed it.

We opted to stay here instead of inside RMNP. What a fantastic decision! This might be the best campground we have ever stayed at! (We live out east, so we don’t have BLM land for dispersed camping). The road was in great condition, the campsites had enough space between them that they felt semi private, and the vault toilets were the cleanest we’ve ever seen. My only complaint is that they charge an additional $15 fee to dump your tanks. Kinda high considering we were already paying $40 a night for no services and the non-potable water wasn’t turned on so we couldn’t even spray our tanks out. Our phones would bounce between SOS and 1bar of 5g service, but we were pretty much dead in the water when we were at camp. There is wifi at the office where you check, so we could park out front each night and check in with our family.

Very nice campground. The sites were all relatively private - plenty of space between the sites, which I loved. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean, even though they don't have plumbing. They clearly clean then daily and made sure the flies were eradicated before they multiplied. They have bear lockers for food - which was very sensible and nice. Most campgrounds don't offer this. I will say, they are sticklers for campground policies and their policies are not always clear.
